Dia is editing software for diagrams, graphs, and charts.
You can use Dia to load and save diagrams to a custom XML format (gzipped by default, to save space), export diagrams to a number of formats (including EPS, SVG, XFIG, WMF and PNG), and print diagrams (including ones that span multiple pages).
Dia is inspired by the commercial Windows program Visio, though more geared towards informal diagrams for casual use. Teachers and students can use it to draw many different kinds of diagrams, for example, creating a diagram to show how their electrical circuit works; computer programmers can use it to create a flow chart to show the execution path of their program; or network administrators can use it to create a diagram to show how their network is laid out.
