Using Blogger to create a blog is extremely easy, which makes it a good tool for younger students, but the HTML editor also allows more experienced users to create a more complex and personalised layout. A free blogging tool made available by Google, Blogger allows easy interoperability between Google services such as Picassa web albums, Gmail, iGoogle, and GoogleDocs.
Blogger allows you to create a class blog, so that multiple bloggers can contribute to a single blog. You select which team members have administrative authority and those who are just authors. Blog owners can choose to make their blog private and restrict who can view it, and also moderate comments. This puts you in full control of your blog. If users are wanting to restrict audience further perhaps Classblogmeister may be better suited for this purpose.
Tools include automatic save, spellcheck, and Blogger for Word, a handy add-in to Microsoft Word that lets users post directly to their blog with a few clicks. Among the gadgets available are slideshows and user polls, and there are many third-party applications available.
